The AACR 2021 Virtual Cancer and Biomedical Research Career Fair is a recruiting and networking event hosted by which is Powered by the American Association for Cancer Research. The goal of the career fair is to connect post docs and mid-career scientists with representatives from academia, government, industry, and leading cancer research institutions to network with and hire talented, experienced professionals like you.

The career fair is for anyone seeking scientific opportunities within academia, government, or industry.
The Career Fair will be virtual and is accessible from a computer, laptop, iPad, phone, or any other electronic devices.
Yes. You will need to register for this virtual fair. You will also need to upload your CV/ Resume. Please click on the jobseeker registration button at the top of this page. Once you have completed the registration you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration for the event.
The virtual career fair is free for job seekers.
You will receive a link in your confirmation e-mail, or you can simply log into you “myAACR” account. After logging in click onto the virtual career fair.
Click onto the booth of your choice and the job openings and links for that organization. If you are not finding postings of interest, you may want to ask the booth representatives for other postings that are not listed. Never underestimate the power of a thank-you note after the career fair.
You will find the job postings on the booths of the exhibitors who are recruiting. You can also use the search engine to find others by searching using keywords (e.g., scientist, laboratory, genetics, etc.). In addition, you can search for positions on
Yes, to register for this event, you are required to upload your CV/ resume. Once logged in you can update your resume and other profile information. You can attach your resume to your chats or upload it onto your job seeker profile during the event. It is a good idea to add to your profile, links to your LinkedIn profile, website, portfolio/blog (if applicable), short bio, etc.
Yes. The presentation sessions will be recorded and will be available for viewing in the Virtual Platform for up to 30 days after the day of the event. We will provide access to career fair materials for 30 days to all career fair attendees.

You do not need any specific software. All that you will need is internet access.
Some employers can request a video chat, but it is not required to attend the career fair.
They may log in and out as needed on the day of the live career fair. For chat participation, exhibitors will be able to add their chat availability to the Booth Setup Form. This availability will be visible to attendees.

The career fair is an opportunity to meet, network, and as specific questions about Career opportunities available within the organization.
Yes. Company representatives can visit other booths and review their materials. However, company representatives cannot view other booth chat rooms. If you are a company representative who would like to chat with another company’s team, you may do so by meeting in the Networking Room of the lobby.
No. An employer may check on his/her postings or search the database at any time. Each employer will be assigned an admin account after registering to which they may login and check their account.
Each booth includes the following items:

  • Company profile
  • Contact information
  • Links to Company websites, Social Media pages, career sites, etc.
  • Video Vignettes (if desired)
  • Uploaded docs and presentations
The vFairs Platform has created an automated process to create and populate each Exhibitor’s Booth. Once participation is confirmed, our team will send you a link to begin the process. Employers will be provided a range of booth templates from which to select a booth. Once completed, company information, logos, job posting details etc. will be uploaded.
Recruiters can chat with job seekers during the virtual event. Employers can do group chats as well as private chats with job seekers. Both job seekers and employers can access the live event using the log-in button at the top of the Career Fair site.
Prior to the event, attendees and exhibitors should e-mail for technical assistance. If you need technical support during the live event, please visit the technical support chat room in the lobby to receive immediate assistance.
The screens at the booths can be made clickable to take the job seekers to an external link.
They may log in and out as needed on the day of the live career fair. For chat participation, exhibitors will be able to add their chat availability to the Booth Setup Form. This availability will be visible to attendees.
Attendees will be able to see the designation of the booth rep at the booth. To add a designation, a Booth Rep should ensure that they add it to their “First Name” in step 5. (Example, my name is “HR Rep Gabriel Spencer.” On the booth setup form my first name would appear as “HR Rep Gabriel” and last name as “Spencer.”)
